CBU Courtesy Call On Government Information Service Of Grenada

CBU member, the Grenada Government Information Service recently received its official member certificate during a courtesy call in St. Georges by CBU Secretary Sonia Gill.

The presentation was made during a meeting at the Ministerial Complex with Ms. Carvel Lett, Permanent Secretary with responsibility for National Security, Home Affairs, Information & Disaster Management as well as Information Officer, Ms. Shere-Ann Noel.

As one of nearly three dozen CBU members from twenty countries and territories in the Dutch, French, English and Spanish Caribbean GIS Grenada is an active participant in the CBU’s programmes.

PS Lett emphasized the value and importance of the CBU’s capacity-building activities including the current UNESCO-sponsored project on media and information literacy as well as the recently-launched partnership with the Caribbean School of Media and Communication CARIMAC, which gives CBU personnel special admission to courses in the Master’s degree in Media Management.

The Secretary General also shared with the Grenadian member’s representatives some early information about plans for the CBU’s 54th Annual General Assembly scheduled for August 14 – 16, 2023 in Antigua and Barbuda.
