Gary Allen – President
Member System: RJRGLEANER Communications Group, JAMAICA
Mr. Gary Allen is a career media worker who is at present the Managing Director of the RJRGLEANER Communications Group in Jamaica. The group is comprised of three radio stations, a free to air television station, three cable stations and a new media company.
Mr. Allen has been managing director for under a year, and was deputy managing director for two years. – in a career entirely in media
A journalist by training, he has also worked at the regional level, being first Programmes Operations Manager for the Caribbean Broadcasting Union and then Chief Operating Officer for the Caribbean Media Corporation.
As both a journalist and a media manager in a region that counts dozens of increasingly ferocious storms and cyclones for half of the year, while experiencing droughts or flooding for the other half, Mr. Allen has journalistic and management experience dealing with the economic, physical and personal effects of climate change on the Caribbean.
He tutors in media at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, from which he is a graduate and he is also the Chairman of the Media Association of Jamaica – a trade association of media owners and executives.
Kayleaser Deveaux-Isaacs – Vice President
Member System: ZNS, The Bahamas
Mrs. Kayleaser Deveaux-Isaacs (nee Moss), is the General Manager of The Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas (aka ZNS) with nearly 20 years of broadcasting experience. She graduated from Aquinas College, Nassau, Bahamas, 1986.
She completed her Associates, Bachelors and Masters Degrees while in New York City and obtained a Diploma from Oxford University, England.
Before joining The Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas in 2007, she worked at Fox News Channel (FNC) in New York City and Washington, DC where she produced many live and taped television and radio programmes for Fox News Channel and Fox Broadcast Network, including the Fox Broadcast hit television show, American Idol (Season I). In 2004, Fox News Channel CEO, Roger Ailes chose Kayleaser to receive the inaugural Ailes Apprentice Award, created for rising stars at Fox News Channel, New York.
In December 2012, she led The Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas’ launch team of the revolutionary High Definition (HD) Television System and has created several ground-breaking News & Current Affairs programmes. In November, 2018 she was confirmed to the office of General Manager.
She is a Television, Radio & Theatre professional and straddles the fence as a Broadcast and Performing Artist. She is member of the Board of Directors of the Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU) represented the Broadcasting Corporation at several international committee meetings and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television & Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). She is a youth mentor, motivational speaker and lends support to several local outreach organizations.
She is married to Mr. Peter Deveaux-Isaacs, Sr. and the stepmom of one son, Peter Jr.
Emiliana Bernard-Stephenson – Director
Member System: TELEISLAS, COLOMBIA
Emiliana Bernard-Stephenson is an outstanding journalist of the region of San Andres Providence and St. Ketlina Islands. She is the present Executive Director of the TV Channel of the archipelago of San Andres and Providence Island, TELEISLAS. She graduated in Communications with post graduate studies in Public Administration and Finance and a Masters Degree in Caribbean Studies with the National Colombian University, with fifteen years (15) of field experience in media and journalism as a newspaper, radio, and television Journalist Reporter and Anchor.
In governmental and public experience, she has fulfilled the role of Island Secretary of Social Development and Secretary of Government, Chief of Press-Communication of the Government, as well as Chief of Press of the Departmental Assembly. Emiliana is a feminist, poet, activist and defender of indigenous and ethnic rights of the native community of the islands.
Keith Campbell – Director
Member System: Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica, JAMAICA
Keith Campbell, B.A., M.A. began his broadcasting career as president of the Television and Radio club of his alma mater, St. Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS), in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth.
As a consequence of his intense involvement in this unique extra-curricular activity, Mr. Campbell, upon graduation was recruited to join the staff of the now defunct Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC). Initially trained as a studio cameraman, Mr. Campbell was later transferred to the film department as Cinematographer and Audio Technician He holds a Diploma (Hons.) from the Germain School of Film and Television in New York, USA; a Diploma in Advanced Studies in Film and Television from the Fenders Ferris Institute in Berlin, Germany; a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Radio, Television and Film, along with a Masters Degree in Political Science, majoring in International Relations from Temple University.
Mr. Campbell is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica (PBCJ), and has served as Director of Production at the Creative Production and Training Center (CPTC); Director of Television at the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC); Programmes and Production Manager at Television Jamaica (TVJ), and CVM Television respectively. He has lectured at the Media Technology Institute (MTI), the training division of the CPTC, and is currently adjunct Lecturer at the University of Technology (UTECH) and the University of the West Indies (Mona Campus).
Mr. Campbell’s professional career has spanned approximately 40 years, during which time he has gained extensive experience locally and internationally, in all aspects of television management, production, programming, policy making and negotiations.
He is currently a Board Member of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA), and has served as a Director of the Boxing Board of Jamaica. He has served as Board member and Secretary of the Broadcast and Allied Credit Union, and a former Board member of the African Caribbean Institute of Jamaica/Jamaica Memory Bank/Liberty Hall Board.
Mr. Campbell is an Anglican and married with three daughters.
Sushilla Jadoonanan – Director
Member System: DirecTV Caribbean, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO
Sushilla Jadoonanan is an Attorney-at-law, practising in Trinidad and Tobago. She is the Manager of Legal Affairs for DIRECTV Caribbean and handles all the legal and regulatory issues. A significant part of her portfolio is devoted to Anti-Piracy efforts and Intellectual Property Rights enforcement. She has been practising law for over 10 years and also has an affinity for Sports Law where she serves as General Secretary of the Trinidad and Tobago Association for Sport and Law and also as a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association.
Christopher Jarrett – Director
Member System: Radio Turks & Caicos , TURKS & CAICOS
With 25 years of radio broadcasting experience, Christopher Jarrett is the Director of Radio Turks & Caicos Network. In addition, he is a Voiceover Host, a former Producer, Presenter and an Anchor for News, Sports & Entertainment Events. He holds Masters & Bachelor Degrees in Broadcasting and has worked with stations in Jamaica, the BVI, Trinidad & Tobago and now the Turks & Caicos.
Dionne John – Director
Member System: National Broadcasting Corporation,
ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES
Dionne John is a trained media professional with over 20 years’ experience. She is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus Jamaica.
She began her career at the National Broadcasting Corporation and has held several senior posts including Programme Manager Ag. She then served as Director of the National Commission on Crime Prevention (NCCP) and was appointed on promotion as Deputy Director of the Agency for Public Information (API) and was later promoted to Director.
She is presently seconded to the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC Radio) as General Manager. She holds several Directorships and other professional certifications.
Dionne is a member of Lions Clubs International-the world’s largest service organization. She was recently accorded a Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, the most prestigious award in Lionism for her outstanding service to the movement in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and across the region. She enjoys reading and music.
Richard Purcell – Director
Member System: Caribbean Communications Company, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO
Richard Purcell is currently the General Manager of CCN TV6 in Trinidad and the Caribbean Communications Company Ltd (GEM Radio Five) which operates seven radio stations in five territories in the Caribbean. Richard has extensive experience in the broadcasting industry, having begun his career in 1978 at Trinidad and Tobago Television. In 1991 he joined the the Caribbean Communication Network Group (which became One Caribbean Media – OCM in 2005) as part of the team which established TV6 in Trinidad. During the ensuing years he worked in various territories and in different portfolios within the OCM Group, including General Manager & Director at the Grenada Broadcasting Network where he spent seven years. Richard has engaged in numerous broadcast and management training activities during his career, including the Advanced Management Programme at Cambridge University in England.
