Richard Purcell

Richard Purcell – Vice President

Richard Purcell is currently the General Manager of CCN TV6 in Trinidad and the Caribbean Communications Company Ltd (GEM Radio Five) which operates seven radio stations in five territories in the Caribbean. Richard has extensive experience in the broadcasting industry, having begun his career in 1978 at Trinidad and Tobago Television. In 1991 he joined the the Caribbean Communication Network Group (which became One Caribbean Media – OCM in 2005) as part of the team which established TV6 in Trinidad. During the ensuing years he worked in various territories and in different portfolios within the OCM Group, including General Manager & Director at the Grenada Broadcasting Network where he spent seven years. Richard has engaged in numerous broadcast and management training activities during his career, including the Advanced Management Programme at Cambridge University in England.

Emiliana Bernard-Stephenson

Emiliana Bernard-Stephenson – Director

Emiliana Bernard-Stephenson is an outstanding journalist of the region of San Andres Providence and St. Ketlina Islands. She is the present Executive Director of the TV Channel of the archipelago of San Andres and Providence Island, TELEISLAS. She graduated in Communications with post graduate studies in Public Administration and Finance and a Masters Degree in Caribbean Studies with the National Colombian University, with fifteen years (15) of field experience in media and journalism as a newspaper, radio, and television Journalist Reporter and Anchor.

In governmental and public experience, she has fulfilled the role of Island Secretary of Social Development and Secretary of Government, Chief of Press-Communication of the Government, as well as Chief of Press of the Departmental Assembly. Emiliana is a feminist, poet, activist and defender of indigenous and ethnic rights of the native community of the islands.

Keith Campbell

Keith Campbell – Director

Member System: Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica, JAMAICA

Keith Campbell, B.A., M.A. began his broadcasting career as president of the Television and Radio club of his alma mater, St. Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS), in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth.

As a consequence of his intense involvement in this unique extra-curricular activity, Mr. Campbell, upon graduation was recruited to join the staff of the now defunct Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC). Initially trained as a studio cameraman, Mr. Campbell was later transferred to the film department as Cinematographer and Audio Technician He holds a Diploma (Hons.) from the Germain School of Film and Television in New York, USA; a Diploma in Advanced Studies in Film and Television from the Fenders Ferris Institute in Berlin, Germany; a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Radio, Television and Film, along with a Masters Degree in Political Science, majoring in International Relations from Temple University.

Mr. Campbell is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica (PBCJ), and has served as Director of Production at the Creative Production and Training Center (CPTC); Director of Television at the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC); Programmes and Production Manager at Television Jamaica (TVJ), and CVM Television respectively. He has lectured at the Media Technology Institute (MTI), the training division of the CPTC, and is currently adjunct Lecturer at the University of Technology (UTECH) and the University of the West Indies (Mona Campus).

Mr. Campbell’s professional career has spanned approximately 40 years, during which time he has gained extensive experience locally and internationally, in all aspects of television management, production, programming, policy making and negotiations.

He is currently a Board Member of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA), and has served as a Director of the Boxing Board of Jamaica. He has served as Board member and Secretary of the Broadcast and Allied Credit Union, and a former Board member of the African Caribbean Institute of Jamaica/Jamaica Memory Bank/Liberty Hall Board.

Mr. Campbell is an Anglican and married with three daughters.

Dionne John

Dionne John – Director

Dionne John is a trained media professional with over 20 years’ experience. She is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus Jamaica.

She began her career at the National Broadcasting Corporation and has held several senior posts including Programme Manager Ag. She then served as Director of the National Commission on Crime Prevention (NCCP) and was appointed on promotion as Deputy Director of the Agency for Public Information (API) and was later promoted to Director.

She is presently seconded to the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC Radio) as General Manager. She holds several Directorships and other professional certifications.

Dionne is a member of Lions Clubs International-the world’s largest service organization. She was recently accorded a Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, the most prestigious award in Lionism for her outstanding service to the movement in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and across the region. She enjoys reading and music.
