The CBU 57th Annual General Assembly takes place from Monday, August 17, to Wednesday, August 19, 2026 in Georgetown, Guyana, under the theme “Caribbean Media & AI”.

Conference sessions will be held at the Authur Chung Conference Center at Liliendall, East Coast Demerara.

Visa Guidance
It is important that participants check passport and visa requirements for Barbados in due time before departure.
CARICOM passport holders are NOT subject to the visa obligations to enter Guyana. Delegates who are NOT CARICOM passport holders may be subject to visa obligations. Send a scanned copy of your national passport to info@caribroadcastunion.org no later than June 26, 2026 for preparation of an invitation letter to ease your visa release process.

Travel Arrangements
You should plan your travel to arrive in Georgetown in time for the Delegates Tour which starts at 9.00 AM on Monday August 17, 2026.
ARRIVING BY AIR: Ground transportation from the Eugene F. Correia International Airport or the Cheddi Jagan International Airport to the hotel is available.
Tipping & Taxis
Tipping is generally not required, but it is appreciated in restaurants and cafés.
Taxis: Are widely available.

Weather & Time Zone
Guyana has tropical weather. Temperatures are uniformly high, as is the relative humidity. Average daytime temperatures hover around 29°C. Nighttime temperatures range from 26°C to 24°C. Kindly note however that meeting rooms are air conditioned.

Meeting Attire
Business wear suitable for a tropical climate is appropriate. However, conference rooms will be air-conditioned, and delegates should dress appropriately for these sessions.
