CARIMAC Media Artist-in-Residence Programme Now Open forApplications

The Caribbean School of Media and Communication (CARIMAC) at The University of the West Indies, Mona, is proud to announce that applications are now open for the CARIMAC Media Artist-in-
Residence Programme, an exciting initiative designed to celebrate and advance Caribbean creativity in media arts.


This residency offers a unique opportunity for a Caribbean media artist to be immersed in a vibra
academic and cultural environment while developing a project that reflects the region’s rich heritage
and contemporary realities. The programme aims to strengthen the connection between creativ
practice and scholarship, providing space for innovation, collaboration, and cultural exchange.

Residency Details:

  • Duration: Mid-February to mid-April 2026
  • Special Feature: Participation in CARIMAC Open Week (April 6–10, 2026)
  • Support: The residency includes airfare, accommodation, a stipend, and project funds for
    one selected artist.

Applications are now open and will close in December 2025, with the successful artist announced in
January 2026.

This initiative underscores CARIMAC’s commitment to nurturing creative talent and fostering
dialogue between media practitioners and academic communities. By hosting a media artist on
campus, CARIMAC continues its tradition of shaping the future of Caribbean media and
communication.
