Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU) President Anthony Greene is in Xi’an, China, representing the region at the Global South Media Partners Mechanism Inauguration Meeting, hosted by China Media Group (CMG).
Held on November 6, 2025, this milestone gathering brought together media leaders and broadcasters from across the Global South — developing and emerging nations in Latin America, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific — united by a shared goal to build a more balanced global media landscape.

The new Global South Media Partners Mechanism provides a platform for collaboration among more than 500 media organizations from 114 countries, fostering cooperation, mutual trust, and shared growth. It also seeks to promote a fairer, more diverse, and more inclusive global communication ecosystem.
As part of the event, participants also attended the 13th Global Video Media Forum and Global South Media Roundtable, discussing the media’s role in advancing global governance and amplifying voices from the Global South.
The CBU’s participation underscores its commitment to ensuring that Caribbean perspectives remain an active part of the global media conversation.
