The Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU) is pleased to welcome to membership Richès Karayib from Martinique, a digital media outlet based in Martinique.
CEO Sabrina Ajax described the new multilingual member’s focus as “promoting Caribbean tourism, culture, heritage, cooperation and their economic and ecological dynamics.” She decided to join the CBU after the successful staging of its 56th Annual General Assembly in Barbados which focussed on
“Caribbean Media and the Orange Economy”.
CBU President, Mr. Anthony Greene, highlighted the CBU’s longstanding advocacy for and support to media in the Dutch, English, Spanish and French Caribbean. He noted, “For more than five decades the entire Caribbean media sector has benefitted immensely from collaborative action under the umbrella
of the CBU.”
The newest CBU member joins a grouping of nearly three dozen media houses, educational institutions, regulators and independent producers who collectively provide capacity building, policy advice and other sectoral development activities.
The CBU is currently accepting entries for the 37th edition of its regional media content competition, the CBU Media Awards, which will culminate with the Awards Gala to be telecast and streamed live in August 2026.
