On May 3rd, 2023, Dr. Patrick Prendergast, Director of the Mona-Western Jamaica campus of the University of the West Indies, was a guest speaker at the inaugural J.A. Lester Spaudling Lecture presented by RJR Gleaner Communications Group in tribute to CBU Caribbean Media Hall Of Famer and former RJR Chairman and CBU President, Mr. J.A. Lester Spaulding. The theme of the lecture was “Freedom of the Press in Jamaica”.
