The CBU is pleased to invite lovers of digital media to log on to its website and social media platforms and vote for their favourite reel in the People’s Choice Categories of the 36th CBU Media Awards.
This year’s competition features a revamped People’s Choice Award dedicated to the best of social media reels. The CBU is encouraging the public to go to its digital platform to “like” or vote for short-form digital content in the categories of News and Current Affairs, Music, Comedy and Education.
The twenty-four (24) entries were submitted from five (5) countries: Barbados, Belize, Jamaica, San Andres Colombia and Trinidad & Tobago.
The closing date for registering your “likes” is Monday, June 2nd. So log on to the CBU website www.caribroadcastunion.org or go straight to the CBU’s Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn accounts.

Record-breaking Number of Entries
Once again, the response to the Call for Entries was overwhelming. The CBU Secretariat received another record-breaking five hundred and forty-seven (547) entries in sixty-one (61) of the sixty-seven (67) categories advertised this year. This was an increase of more than fifteen percent (15%) over the entries received in 2024.
The entries were submitted by thirty (30) organisations from eleven (11) countries and territories in the Dutch, English and Spanish Caribbean.
Judging Process
The remaining entries will be assessed by a twelve-member panel of judges representing Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad & Tobago.
The winners will be announced and the trophies presented at the Awards Gala at the Hilton Barbados Resort on August 20, 2025, during the 56th CBU Annual General Assembly.
