World Radio Day 2017 is now LIVE!

UNESCO invites all radio stations and supporting organisations to register your events for  World Radio Day 2017, a chance to celebrate radio and how it helps shape our lives!

Our brand new website is now LIVE.  You can register for World Radio Day HERE to promote your World Radio Day event or broadcast on our map of activities.

World Radio Day 2017 Theme: “Radio is YOU!”

It’s all about audience participation and engagement – providing your listeners with a voice, not simply on-air, but in the policy and planning of your station.

You can take the World Radio Day Health Check Up challenge HERE.  In fact, if your radio station has audience engagement polices, a public editor or self review programmes, we want to hear from you! Send in your polices, programmes and ideas to Alison Meston, and we will share them with our World Radio Day community.

Three ways to be involved with World Radio Day 2017!

Join the hundreds of radio stations worldwide celebrating an event on or around World Radio Day.

Plan a special broadcast, or host an open day or public event. Get together with other stations for a World Radio Day concert and discussion forum. Post it on the events map on our website so everyone can find out about it.

Tell your listeners, networks and partners about World Radio Day and why it’s important. Post to social media using #worldradioday.

Our new website will have all the sound clips, jingles, social media visuals and printable materials you need to help make this World Radio Day the biggest yet!

World Radio Day is a chance to check up on how you’re engaging your audience. Host a self-review programme, hold a listener forum, nominate an audience engagement officer, or create an audience participation policy- the choice is yours!

Sign up to World Radio Day today and spread the word amongst your colleagues. Want to be a World Radio Day partner? Contact Alison Meston:
