Feb 22, 2015 | News Releases

Dear Sir/Madam,

It is my great pleasure to extend to you this invitation to join us in the celebration of the ITU’s
150th Anniversary, which will take place in Geneva on 17 May 2015. This year we are delighted
to be celebrating, on World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, a Commemorative
afternoon of events.

The celebrations will run from 13h30–18h00, commencing with a commemoration of ITU’s
historical past before moving on to more innovative and interactive activities embracing our
theme “Telecommunication and ICTs: Drivers of Innovation”. The complete draft programme
will be available on the ITU’s 150th website shortly.

Under the umbrella of the Anniversary theme, and throughout the whole of 2015, each month
will have its own specifically dedicated sub-theme, focusing on various topics relating to ICT. An
important element of the celebrations will be the announcement of the winners of the ITU150
Awards. Further details concerning the Awards can be found at:
The 17 May celebration will also feature link ups to National celebrations being organized around
the globe to highlight 150 years of worldwide collaboration for the global advancement of
telecommunications and ICTs.

I look forward to you joining us as we celebrate the past, present, and future of our extraordinary

Yours faithfully,
